On April 16th and 17th a contingent of ten of your AACSC Board of Directors and fellow members, along with our sister associations, journeyed to our State Capitol in Sacramento to meet with our areas' legislators to discuss and lobby for and against various bills before the Senate and Assembly affecting our Industry. We feel it was a highly successful effort, because we represented YOU, the rental property owner, a person who VOTES, a constituent of the legislator.

During that Legislative Day, we were a major part of our coalition composed of all the National Apartment Association member associations in California including Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles, Apartment Association of Orange County, East Bay Rental Housing Association, Nor Cal Rental Property Association and San Diego County Apartment Association.

AACSC Board members also attended the March NAA Capitol Conference in Washington, D.C.

In addition to the meetings in Sacramento and D.C., for the past several months we have been visiting the legislators in their home district offices, and will continue to meet with them on a regular basis. If you have a personal or professional relationship with any legislator or other elected representative in State, County or City government, we would appreciate you volunteering to be a con tact person with that official. Please let the AACSC office know if you are able to assist.

On April 22nd we held our annual Golf Tournament at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach. It was a great day of golf and camaraderie. After golf, there was a dinner and auction. Fun was had by all attending.

Special thanks go out to our sponsors for helping to put on the event and sup port ing YOU and our Industry. Please show them your thanks by supporting them with your business.

And now for something fun yet to come. Our annual Casino Night at Party with the Ponies at Los Alamitos Race Course is Friday, May 17th. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to socialize with your fellow members and network to promote your business. By popular demand, we're bringing back from last year the very successful and fun casino games. Look for Black Jack, Roulette, and Craps. A wonderful buffet dinner will be served and, of course, there are the ponies. RSVP to the AACSC office soon, as space is limited. Join us for a fun evening, won't you?
